Junk Science

And crooked 'scientists' put a lot of innocent people in jail. But, as the Montgomery Advertiser reports this morning, there are charlatans on the other side also.

According to the story, Robert Madrid faked just about every credential imaginable, and then worked as an expert witness. He was discovered by two prosecutors prior to his testimony in a murder trial. He has been convicted of perjury (he lied in a civil case) and will probably serve one year.

This guy needs to go to jail for longer than one year. When an expert gets on the stand and lies, when anyone gets on the stand and lies, they don't just hurt the opposing party, they undermine the whole justice system. They cause people to lose faith in it. This is serious harm.
