We're Safe

Because delegates from the Episcopal Diocese of California on Saturday did NOT elect a gay bishop. Instead, "The diocese chose the Right Reverend Mark Handley Andrus of Birmingham. Andrus is married and has two college-age daughters."

Had they chosen one of the gay candidates, hundreds of innocent people would have died. So said former Birminghamian the Rev. Paul Zahl, when he compared the election of a gay bishop to "a terrorist bomb, which is timed to destroy a peace process."

The whole thing, however, may have been much ado about nothing: The Southern Baptist convention tells us that "There is no such thing as a homosexual person." So those silly Episcopalians were just confused. (For contrary views, read this).
